The Pattern Archive – License & Terms of Use

The Pattern Archive provides access to a curated collection of surface pattern designs created by Johanna V Creative. By subscribing to The Pattern Archive, you agree to the following licensing terms and conditions.
These terms govern how the patterns may be used during an active subscription and what restrictions apply to their use.
1. License Grant
An active subscription to The Pattern Archive grants the subscriber a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable commercial license to use the patterns available within the archive.
This license allows the subscriber to download and use patterns for permitted commercial and personal projects only while the subscription remains active and in good standing.
All copyrights and ownership of the artwork remain the sole property of Johanna V Creative.
2. Active Subscription Requirement
Use of patterns from The Pattern Archive is permitted only while your subscription is active.
If your subscription ends, is canceled, or expires:
• All rights to use the downloaded patterns immediately terminate.
• You must discontinue the use of all archive patterns in any new or existing products.
• Patterns may not remain in use in product listings, print-on-demand platforms, digital products, branding, or manufacturing after the subscription ends.
Continued use of archive patterns without an active subscription constitutes unauthorized use and copyright infringement.
3. Permitted Uses (During Active Subscription)
While your subscription is active, patterns from The Pattern Archive may be used for the following purposes:
• Physical products for sale (including small business goods)
• Print-on-demand products
• Fabric or textile products
• Packaging design
• Stationery products
• Home goods and decor
• Product branding or visual packaging elements
• Marketing graphics for your business
• Personal creative projects
Patterns may be used as part of a larger finished design or product.
Patterns must not be sold or distributed as standalone digital files.
4. Prohibited Uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:
• Reselling or redistributing the patterns as digital files
• Sharing downloaded patterns with others
• Uploading patterns to stock asset websites or marketplaces
• Including patterns in design bundles or resource packs
• Claiming the artwork as your own
• Selling patterns as seamless pattern files or templates
• Using patterns to create competing pattern libraries
• Using patterns in AI training datasets or machine learning models
• Uploading the patterns to platforms that allow others to download the design files
Patterns must always be incorporated into a finished product or design.
5. Print-On-Demand Use
Patterns may be used for print-on-demand products during an active subscription.
Examples include:
• apparel
• mugs
• blankets
• phone cases
• fabric prints
• home decor
If your subscription ends, you must remove the patterns from all print-on-demand listings and products.
6. Digital Product Restrictions
Patterns from The Pattern Archive may not be used in digital products that allow customers to extract or reuse the artwork, including:
• digital pattern packs
• clipart bundles
• templates
• design resources
• downloadable graphics
Patterns must not be sold as part of any digital asset product.
7. Ownership of Artwork
All patterns remain the intellectual property of Johanna V Creative.
Purchasing or subscribing to The Pattern Archive does not transfer ownership of the artwork.
Subscribers receive only a limited license to use the designs under the terms outlined in this agreement.
8. Termination of License
If a subscription ends or is canceled:
• all usage rights immediately terminate
• all patterns must be removed from products and listings
• the patterns may no longer be used in any commercial or personal project
Failure to comply with these terms may result in:
• license termination
• legal action for copyright infringement
• revocation of access to The Pattern Archive
9. Updates to the Archive
The Pattern Archive is a growing library. New patterns may be added periodically.
Access to newly added patterns is granted only to active subscribers.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By subscribing to The Pattern Archive, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these licensing terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not download or use the patterns provided within the archive.
